Tom, Maiden of St. Donat's

A Finnish teenage girl Hanna finds herself studying at an international boarding school in Wales at the time when the only contact home was an occasional letter. She shares her room and her entire life with the artistic Elena, rich and dazzling Justine and warm-hearted Sarah. The four girls constantly get into trouble with the Housemaster Mr. Williams as they like nothing better than pulling a prank. The book is based on the author´s real life experiences at Atlantic College in the 1970`s.

The author practices medicine for living and today works as a consultant in occupational health in her home town Turku in south western Finland. She gets her inspiration to write from books, the seaside (especially the archipelago of Turku), the forests and the fellow human beings. She was born in Rauma and at the age of sixteen got a scholarship to study at Atlantic College in Wales. She returned to study in Turku but she still keeps contact with her college friends all over the world. which is now so much easier than in the college years in the 70´s. The novel Tom, Maiden of St. Donat´s is the author´s first book.
