The paper also defines representation from a philosophical point of view, moving on to a media point of view, which then leads to the critical detailed analysis of how culture and race are represented in South African television paying special attention to two of the most popular soap operas.

He is a Linguist with research interest in legal discourse and political discourse. He has worked for a number of institutions in South Africa, including University of Venda, Tshwane University of Technology, Rosebank College, University of South Africa and North-West University.
